I hate snow. I just spent 2 hours shoveling my driveway by hand. I am cold and sore. I will be attempting to work from home today. Garion is staying home because school is closed. Carl is staying home because the roads are horrible. Holden went to daycare because she is still open and I can't have the kids fighting if I need to do actual work ( Read more... )

Ugh. I hope you get at least one moment of reprieve today. Hang in there!

Carl and I took Garion swimming at the YMCA today. So I relaxed and sat in the hot tub a bit. My shoulder is still super sore, though. Unfortunately, I will be shoveling the driveway (at least the end where the snowplow junk is) and around the mailbox at least once more today. I just have to motivate myself to get out there before dark.

Is now not the right time to mention how my neighbor had his plow guy clear out my driveway for free today?

Bastard. I sent an email to my co-worker who lives in Roseville about 10 minutes away from work to ask how bad the roads were this morning. He was about 40 minutes late to work so I am glad I didn't even try.

I shoveled this a.m. did a good job, went to work and shoveled. Came home & city had plowed me in. Hard time even getting car into the yard. Started shoveling again and pooped out. One of the handymen I use here was into office to place and ad and said business was slow. So I called him. David sent his son Ben over with the truck & he had it all plowed out good in about 10 minutes. He did 3 times as much as I usually do (bigger space) and in such a short time. Did a wonderful job. Even asked him to clear out by the mailboxes for me. Only cost me $25 and worth every penny of it. I have only resorted to this twice before that I can remember in the last 29 years here. It was so worth the $. will have to rework budget but at the moment I am very thankful he was available on such short notice.
