I made a necklace (and matching bracelet). It was meant as a birthday present for a friend. But I can't stop wearing it. Oops. Fortunately her birthday is in May. Is it cheating if I keep it for myself until then?

It's important to test bracelets thoroughly before giving them to the recipient. Imagine how embarassed you'd be if it just snapped from catching on a button or something? By wearing it until May you'll be sure to know it can handle the wear.
