I bet they love cyclists because cyclists hardly ever plow 1000+ kg of metal into someone else whilst intoxicated and make orphans and widow(er)s!
Our critical mass actually has a police escort when it's large. Primarily to keep the potentially hostile drivers in check, I believe.
