OTOH, even if Hoggle has come to an end it's not necessarily him on the road. Hedgehogs are not long-lived. Maybe he's curled up peacefully in some gentle scented spot and just gone to hedgehog heaven.

Oh no! I love hedgehogs. My sister had one for a little while in high school. I think his name was El Greco. :)
