Stage 07: Wiggly's room!

Jun 30, 2009 02:39

Like many people out there I grow curious as to what the natural habit of my online pals is like. And it's always quite fascinating when I do get an opportunity to see the domicile of a fellow internet nerdgeekchild. So seeing as my room is currently in an organized state I'll show a small tour of a few corners of mine.

Normally there are plants by the windowsill, but they're currently outside enjoying the sunny weather.

My room's decently sized. I can move around in it without getting frustrated with floorspace. But my previous 2 bedrooms were about half this size so I'm used to keeping myself in small areas.

Read a book!

Right next to the doorway alcove-y thing I keep my book rack n'stand, which houses around a third of my art books, game guides, comics a few of my older art pads, and miscellaneous research books are housed. The rest are in various piles in other corners of my room, and a massive stack of manga and other graphic novels in drawers and on most of my closet floor. My shoes usually lay around here, as well as a few of my convention supplies and whatever books I'm currently using.

Spidey watches over the entertainment stuff.
My tv, game consoles, and wire mess. I'd like a bigger tv when I can afford one, but it's not a big deal. I also don't have cable in my room. Since I don't watch much tv, cable is in the other parts of the house.

If you look carefully you can see an Akira Kogami trading figure amongst the colorful robots. She belongs to Waspinator now.
Above the tv and book stand is the Transformers: Animated shelf, which is just a massive clusterfuck because I don't want to split them into 2 shelves. Eventually they'll be moved to a bookcase and spaced properly. I usually have a rule of only 1 of each character on a shelf, but given how cramped things are getting I temporarily omitted that rule. And my Transformers MISC shelf is 3 times worse than this, you'll see that later.

White sheets sure can overexpose an image, can't they?
This is a dumping ground for mostly some of my older figures collected during college and random things I get that don't really fit in anywhere. Some of my newer toys migrate there after spending time on my desk, mostly video game and anime trading figures picked up at cons. The white sheet is there for a backdrop area when I take photos of things to be sold on Ebay. There are more figures but they're stored in boxes to both save space and to keep me from looking at the ones that I don't really like anymore. There's also a MASSIVE box of anime plush dolls in the closet, I only keep a few out nowadays. I really need more Animal Crossing merchandise.

I should really turn Snoopy onto his back so that it looks like he's sleeping on the game stack like he does on his doghouse.
Next to the dresser with the sheet and action figures is my solitary cabinet, which is full of most of my videogames, all of my dvd's,convention supplies, and office supplies. And various games that wouldn't fit inside on top of it.

Zatch and homemade Vulcan 300 hang out on my night stand.
I usually keep 2 alarms on, my clock radio for that ear grating alarm sound that was birthed in the depths of hell, straight out of Satan's anus. And my DS as a backup, set a half hour apart.

I should use some of that empty wall space for more shelves...
Above the bed is the Random Transformers shelf. It goes in about a foot and is filled to the brim with 3 rows of robots of every generation. One day they'll be displayed properly, and not like they're in a Japanese subway car.

Tiny desk/dresser combo!
I spend most of my time here. I have an old style good sized monitor, so I use the extra space as yet another shelf.

Most of my room is pretty frumpy, but functional. Eventually I'd love to trade up to moderately stylish and functional.

That's it!
