Creative Writing Assignment 3

Write a story that incorporates the aspects of the traditional Hero's Journey as outlined by Person Whose Name I Don't Remember.
I dislike this one the most out of everything I've got so far.  =(  I dunno.  I thought it was a decent idea but it seems really stupid now.  Thoughts, opinions?  As usual, it's not graded and I'd love criticism and stuff.

Elaborate critique fails Sol again, but I do say this was awesome, Wighty. The little boy starts out taking life for granted, perhaps even slightly spoiled, and a brush with death made him grow up. You wrote things from a child's perspective very well, too.

Blaaaargh. I don't like it at all. The more I read it, the more I cringe. =( But thank you! Yeah, I was going for the little kid's perspective, so . . . maybe that's why it makes me cringe.

I don't have any crit for you because this is perfect. Really. The voice really sounds like it's coming from a little kid, and the attention to detail is fantastic. I loved the part about him being nice and adding the bugs, it made me laugh. Such a typical little kid thing to do!

I know I've said this before, but I always mean it. You have an amazing amount of talent and I always look forward to reading your work.
