I am such a failure

First car 'accident' ever.  Barely an accident.  Rear-ended the guy from a stopped position at a red light because my foot came off the brake while I was checking the GPS and I was too busy trying to figure out my route to pay attention.  Inflicted a paint scratch approximately an inch long.

Really sketchy looking guy walks out and spits out some ( Read more... )

Oh geez, man. D: But yeah, definitely agreeing to tell the police anyhow, because that way if someone does turn up using your license sketchily they'll know about it. Hopefully the guy will return it to you anyhow--here's hoping that it turns out all right, that sounds as stressful as all hell.

Ah, hey! I have to apologize to you. After we friended each other, I never actually talked to you and then after like a month passed, I was like, "Would it be too awkward to start commenting to her entries" and so I just. Never did. I am sorry for being a loser. =(

But thanks. I think I overreacted a bit last night since I talked to a bunch of people and most of them said a driver's license was a minimal form of ID and it shouldn't really be possible to get away with much. I will just hope that the guy took it by accident somehow.

Ahaha, well I should apologize for uh... the same exact thing really. *kicks shyness forever* So don't worry about it!

That's good though--I don't blame you for freaking out since I probably would too in that situation.

We can be lame together. =)

I think life needs a rewind button. Even just 5 seconds would be fine. But things should be alright, thanks.

Man, that sucks! But I'm sure it's gonna work out okay. Even if worse comes to worst and the dude tries to copy your social security number or whatever, I'm sure the police will be able to help you out. This is their job, after all! So yeah, I would definitely call them.

I did! And they were a lot nicer than I thought they would be. I've seen too many television shows where the police are evil or something, I guess, but they said it was the right thing to do to get a report in and to note that the license was missing. So I think . . . everything should be OK. Thanks!

Yikes. That's really nasty. Also agreeing with the "call the police" thing, but yeah. Sorry that had to happen.

It was pretty much my fault entirely. =( I don't even know I completely lost my head and I just sort of babbled the whole time about how sorry I was. I need better crisis management skills or something.

Welp, consider it a learning experience. I bet you'll react with more poise if something like this happens again.

Everyone has said that, which I interpret as code for 'Well you are really stupid but you won't do it again next time right', which I am hoping. =)

Echoing other comments here, but man, that's tough. I don't have experience in this at all, but. Here's hoping it turns out okay.

I like your icon.
And thanks. I am starting to feel better about the whole thing. And I hope it does too.

Oh, sweetie... *big hugs*

It'll be okay. That guy shouldn't have left with your license, the jerk. :| But people lose them all the time, and you CAN get it replaced. It'll be okay. Like everyone else said, take deep breaths and call the police - which you've apparently done. You're okay. All you did was scratch a car, the guy totally overreacted and I want to punch him for making you so nervous and scared. RAWR.

I'm here for you if you need anything. Just keep breathing and try to calm down. I imagine you've already done this, as I'm late to the party as usual, but I had to comment when I read this 'cause now I'm worried about you. *HUG*

Aaah, thank you, Fel. =) Things are in the process of being fixed now. I'll pay the dude and he'll give me back the driver's license. T_T Apparently it was ransom in case I ran away.
