Overall satisfaction: Eh.  Alright.

The math is like almost exactly the same as the SAT.  If I didn't get at least around the same score, I probably would have had to kill myself.  The Verbal is ridiculous.  I am ( Read more... )

Shit, son, 800? Well done! I got something in the 700s, which is really entertaining when you realize, uh, I was applying for history for grad school. 8D As for the Verbal, I got the 590 you spoke of.

Thank you! Honestly, though, it was like exactly like the SATs. o_O It's really bizarre.

Apparently 630 is 90%. And I think 590 is 85% I think they need to adjust the test so as to make the scores reflective of the actual percentiles instead of having everything over 720 be 99%.

I was kind of shooting for Harvard and they won't like that score I don't think. Oh well.

The verbal section on that test is so... dumb. I am in grad school and I can promise you that I still don't know most of the words I didn't know when I took the test.

I bet no one ever uses those words ever. I honestly read scientific papers by the bushelful. NEVER EVER EVER

The word desuetude means 'unused'. DESUETUDE LANGUISHES IN DESUETUDE

... Okay I might have been able to guess that one. The thing is, scientific papers generally use scientific vocabulary, which can be specific but usually for good reason. I never read a paper I didn't understand. I'm sure that the social sciences and humanities can get convoluted and wordy, but I've not encountered that either and don't anticipate it.

Really? If the u and s were switched around I might have been able to, to, eheh. Deusetude.

Yeah, it's just kinda stupid. Honestly, I don't expect to see any of the words I memorized ever.
