I was holding out to post, hoping I'd have a certain 'something' to show you by then. And I could, actually, it's arrived. But there's still a part missing. S'not so bad to wait a bit longer, it would deserve a post of its own, actually . Keep an eye out for an update within a week or so ( Read more... )

YOU'RE WELCOME!!!! Yes! The corruption has spread to books. My work here is done. You are so screwed. Because after the Princess Diaries comes all of Meg Cabot's adult novels. And they are FANTASTIC. And yes. She is God.

And good move on not picking up Twilight. I mean, if you want to read it, that's fine, but I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. And by that I mean I don't really get what all the hype is about. I mean, plot holes, anyone? Strangely enough, I ADORED Stephenie Meyer's other book, The Host. Reading that, it was hard to believe that she wrote Twilight, because the Host is AMAZING!

Books, I luffs them too.

Yes, the corruption has spread far and deep. I have not yet dared to look at what other books she has written, especially the adult novels. I am afraid of going on auto-pilot and ordering them ALL. I'll force myself to read my other 12 books first and then buy more Meg Cabot... but it's so hard.
Then again, I'm hoping for a gift voucher of amazon for Christmas, so I might just hold out a bit longer.

Hm. I think I'll pick up The Host then. I'm curious about Meyer's books, but still a bit in dread about her Twilight books. The more information I pick up here and there on the net, the more 'nay' my mind goes. I'll try The Host then first. Thanks for the rec :)

Yeah, well, you and me both. I'm only about 15 books away from having everything she's ever published. Imagine the temptation! But her books are always fast reads, so if you ever need a break from whatever you're currently reading, you could always pick up one of her books :D

I mean, the writing style of The Host isn't vastly different from Twilight, but it was different enough so that her little nuances didn't bother me. I think part of what made Twilight so...eh, was the subject matter. I mean, some of the stuff in that book is just plain SAPPY!!!

Well, I'm in my 30's and I still enjoy reading some young adult fiction. :P I agree with HRD about Twilight, I don't think you are missing much but I also highly recommend that author's book "The Host", I thought it was excellent and a lot better then any of the Twilight books.

Now you've got me all curious about Meg Cabot books, I think I might have to give them a try now. :D

I love books, too! Glad you had a great time in London.

A second rec about The Host. I'll buy it then. After the twelve others have been read :p

READ MEG CABOT. That is an order! Seriously, I'm not that much of an expert yet, but I love her style. I like laughing with books. Not that it has to be silly all the way through, but I like getting surprised enough to start laughing loud enough all of a sudden that total strangers give me odd looks on the bus. Or having total 'EEEEH' moments (the good kind). Yeah, Meg Cabot is definitely worth trying!

London was great, thank you :)

I have to second the Meg Cabot recommendation (naturally). I mean, her characters are ones that not only can you fall in love with, you can relate to them! And while the main point of Meg Cabot's books are to entertain, there also is a bit of a message in there, one that everyone can appreciate :D

Plus, no other author can make me laugh out loud so consistently! Seriously, if I'm ever in a bad mood, all I have to do is read Meg Cabot and I cheer up :D

He he... sounds like you had a great, although too short, stay in London. Poor Jimmy though, good thing he loves you dearly :)
I suppose I will have to try this Meg Cabot too, just to know what you are all talking about ;)
