Do the drift and mini-turbo stats on a kart/bike/character make any difference if you don't use manual?

Heh, it's funny .. I just finished playing some MK (working on double star rating). I've used both auto and manual, and (this might just be my perception) but the auto bikes seem to be slightly faster while the manual give you the boost. When I play head-to-head against my friends, it's pretty evenly matched between those of us who use auto and those who use manual... so, I'd play whatever you like better.

I think I phrased my question badly! I mean, say a car has really high stats on drift and boost...does that make any difference to your speed if you use automatic, or is that just for manual users?

I think my answer still kind of holds. The cars/bikes seem slightly slower on manual, but make up for it on boost. So no, i dont think it has any effect.

so it's a waste of time choosing a kart with high drift and boost and lower stats on everything else if I use automatic?
