The Year, In Books

I waited until the end of February to bring this "project", officially speaking, to a close.  This might have been one of the better ideas I've ever had (it's up there with trying chicken caesar salad wraps...delicious).  Not only did this serve as a challenge to me - ooo, how much of a dork can I be?! - but it was a nice way of keeping track of ( Read more... )

How is Hot Water Music? I've really wanted to read some of Bukowski's stuff, especially once I found out the band was named for that book.

And have you read The Partly Cloudy Patriot yet? That's what pointed me towards the creamy goodness we call Sarah Vowell. :)

It was both bizarre and yet...oddly entertaining. It was awhile ago that I'd read it but I remember being not immediately turned off by the sexism of it. I'd say it's worth a read.

And no, I haven't read it yet! It's been checked out of Boston Central so I'm waiting for it. Take the Cannoli was pretty good, just stort stories but Assassination Vacation was awesome, especially if you happen to be a huge secret history nerd like myself. Anyone who refers to Robert Todd Lincoln as "Jinxy McDeath" is alright in my book.
