I was glad you recommended it! Definitely a fun book. I remember you mentioned that you probably missed a lot of literary references; I think I did, too. But it didn't seem to matter!

I didn't know Mr Ripley was the first of a series. Huh. Might have to see what the others are like.

I was just browsing journals and saw your post on Tom Ripley. This series is one of my favorites. d enough, the book you mentioned is my least favorite of the series...they get better as Ripley gets older. Very interesting too in that he never gets caught and never pays for his crimes. Check out the rest of the series.Sorry for the intrusion. :)

Thanks, it's nice to hear that the books get better as you go along instead of worse -- often a rarity in series, it seems. I'm hoping to check them out in the near future.
