I read last term in philosophy that we cannot judge others based on their moral actions, only on their immoral ones. The logic was that morality is determined by society, so we cannot tell whether a moral action was caused by their personal desire or their desire for societal approval. Could you, perhaps, define the truth that you're seeking? What exactly do you want from "truth," and how exactly does it change things if you find it?

To me, "truth" is just what you percieve to be reality. I don't have a drive to seek any sort of higher truth, because truth is, to me, simply my veiw of the world. So, I simply decide not to worry about it, and take life as it is. Perhaps that's an overly easygoing way to think about things, but I'm down with just relaxing. I guess I'm just that kind of guy.

On a side note, short stories that I've written (which are VERY few and far between), rather than being sadly single themed, are sadly random, nearly to the point of incoherency. I wonder if that's a reflection on our veiws of truth?

perhaps truth isn't the only worthwhile pursuit; perhaps acceptance is the worthwhile pursuit; perhaps
something else...

well, I'm reading Siddhartha in class. You could wear just a loincloth, wander the streets and forests, and live off the generosity of others. It's just an option to consider.
