I've got ADD too and I think it's pretty cool. We can think in totally different ways than other people. I'm on medication, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm ADD. It's not like the second I take it, I become another person. I'm not different person on or off the meds; I'm just able to concentrate a little better. Makes it easier for me to utilize the super awesome way my mind works. Don't hate the drugs; hate the people who spread the stereotype that people with ADD are all idiots who aren't capable of forming a coherent thought.
I've actually taken the drugs before and my body just didn't respond to it very well. As for people and their assumptions about people with ADD, yeah, I hate that too. When I looked at the other answers on this writers block I was disappointed at the amount of people who used it to make a cheap ADD "butterfly" joke, which got old a long time ago. Most of the people who make those jokes don't have ADD to begin with, and don't understand it, which bothers me even more. It's nice to find another person with ADD who knows where I'm coming from.
