(And the answer is, a lot of things, not enough, and not quickly enough.)

I've about come to the conclusion that the "in" fairy tale for 2012 was the 12 Dancing Princesses. I have read (still reading one) a couple of YA's based on this. I rather enjoyed Merrie Haskell's The Princess Curse, which had a bit more complexity to it. I'm reading ( Read more... )

What did you think of Lin's "Where the Mountain Meets the Moon?" That one was also composed of lots of little stories, but I really liked it.

I haven't read any other Hines novels, but yeah, Libriomancer is really impressive!

I'm told I abuse "actually". Having looked over, say, http://www.labcats.org/mneme/a+e/random_166.html, though...I don't agree. With one (ok, maybe 3) exception, every use I made of the word was correct and meaningful--using it to signal surprise (and disagreement) or facts as opposed to theory (some of these are contextual since I'm responding to other people). Still, something to police.

One of the things I liked best about Marr's Graveminder was how it dealt with death and loss. So few books do that at all well, and Marr did a decent job of it.

One of my book groups plans to discuss Libriomancer later this year, and we're all looking forward to reading it.
