Okay guys, I need your help. Every time I watch the video for "A Night to Remember" I get really confused about this whole play prom/real prom deal. So, in the video are they performing like in the play or are they really getting ready for prom? Or is this some artsy thing where they're practicing for the musical but really are getting ready for

I think (and I say think because none of us will really know until the 24th) that what we see in the video is the play. They "stage the perfect prom," in Gabi's words, and so this is what we're seeing. they're definitely on the East High stage.

I don't think we'll see any clips of the actual prom until the movie is released. In part because (spoilers, from the junior novel, so I'll put this text in white in case you don't want to know. Highlight to see):

Gabi has to miss prom to go to Stanford for some sort of early orientation thing, so Troy surprises her by driving all of the way to Stanford the night of prom just to be with her.

They're saving that for the big screen, I'm sure. Hope that helps!

Yeah, we won't really know until then, but it was just bugging me. I had forgotten I knew that spoiler, but I have seen footage of everyone waltzing in the gym and I thought that was for the real prom but I don't know anymore.

Is it the 24th yet?

the video is so awesome [one of my most fav songs on the soundtrack xDD!!] the lyrics are so hilarious.

i guess they could apply it to their "actual" prom anyway.
