I gotta say, even though I'm not particularly a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow, I think she was great in that episode. I didn't know she could sing.. and dance. She did great. I loved the Umbrella/Singing in the Rain medley. :D
She made me smile like an idiot =). I do like her a lot.
And I didn't know she could sing/dance either! Which was that much greater for me to find out!
haha... I didn't =P. I think that "Singin' in the Rain" got butchered in an attempt to fit it into a more modern track. The switch betwee the "Singin' in the Rain" song to the "Under my umbrella!" didn't flow at all.
The mashup was a little weird, yes. Maybe not something I would have chosen to do. But the performance was great. I loved how the rain/water splashed.. XD
I agree! Besides... so many of my conservative friends watch Glee. And I think it's important they see what their close-mindedness is doing.
Glee is definitely doing that. It puts emphasis on really important things, I think.
Unfortunately, I don't think it was on purpose =S. Glee puts a lot of emphasis on its dance numbers.
"but they don't help it's image by labeling it 'old-fashioned, lame, uncool, silly, hokey, etc.'" YES! That annoyed me that they did that to "Singin' in the Rain" and to Will Schuester's taste. It's just not true and it's very close-minded.
SO SORRY this took me so long to reply...My sister's idea was that Kurt met a boy that he really liked and went on a first date with. And, after they say good night Kurt sings Singin' In The Rain down the street like Gene Kelly in the movie. :D
