As many of you know,
I run a forum called Planet Heath Ledger. It was begun last year as a place where Heath fans could get together in an environment which supported the ongoing feelings of loss which most of us still experience. The idea was that we could be together as a group of people who could chat about our lives, our interest, and anything else which took our fancy, while still knowing that we were among other fans who understood how we felt about Heath.
A year and a half later, the forum is still going strong (and that's saying a lot these days, when so many other Heath-related sites have slowed down or closed now that the energy of The Dark Knight and Dr Parnassus has subsided). As well as the Heath threads and the chat threads, there are also sections devoted to individual interests and pursuits, news, issues, art, music, and whatever else takes members' fancies. As we state on our (rather dull) homepage:
In his brief but beautiful life, Heath gave his audiences
a glimpse into his soul and a chance to see themselves in
a new light. He inspired others to reach out for their own
dreams, to be better people, to make each day count. Here
on the Planet we want to commemorate and celebrate the life
of an inspirational man. Come and share the journey with us.
If Heath has touched your life, if you've been moved to try
something new, if you just want to talk about him and his
films, this is the place for you.
At present, two sections have been opened up for guest posts, the main chat thread, Heath Haven, and the Brokeback Mountain Discussion threads, so even if you don't want to join you can still put in your tuppence worth. Heath was never afraid to speak his mind and our forum encourages healthy (and Heathy) debate.
If you click on the link below the photo - taken at the "A Knight's Tale" premiere in 2001, of course - you'll get onto the forum.
End of infomercial.
