Sorry for the delay - blame it on the festive season! And technical incompetence has caught up with me again today, and I can't get the lj-cut to work.
As ever, my deepest respect and thanks to Annie Proulx.
I have to say that while I love stringing words together in a "purdy" fashion, with this story I'm mostly interested in following the situation of these two characters, and especially how Ellis turned out to be the way he is.
I was so happy to see your update, Marian. I was just thinking about this the other day...
I love this story so far. I like the parallel lives, and my chest tightens up every time I think of Ellis' life, and how awful it was. If only he could have found Jesse that day at the Albany County Fair...
I'm pretty new to BBM Slash, so take this comment with that in mind. The romantic in me whines at this fic because I the Ellis.Ennis & Jesse/Jake characters to have reunited at a much younger age. But the realistic in me is fascinated at your conjecture of what their lives may have been with this later life reunion. Your story rings true to the OS, as much as I want them to grab each other and just stat smooching!
Welcome to BBM slash, Susan!! I've written about various scenarios and this one is pretty much the last one which I wanted to think about. Take heart - there's plenty of slash to pick and choose from :)
Thoughts and actions and what goes through our minds as we look to relieve the tension of that sexual need within all of us the two sides of this coin seeing Ellis at the fair and Jesse in Houston and how they both handled it. The memories of a time that was so special that is felt by both but unrealized by one that it all could be that way again but time is a terrible thing it heals all wounds but it also puts a blister on a wound and it takes time for that blister to fall off so it can start the true healing. 63 years old- a whole life behind both of them with such different experiences. it's exciting and intruiging where you will lead us and what we will find out in the end about their lifes and their future Paula.
Hi, Paula. I'm enjoying the ride too. I've learned from previous stories that characters don't always do what the plotlines say they should, so I'm a little bit wary about this pair :D
so this means- you have no definite ending in mind. Or do you know what you want to happen? But sometimes it differs while you write the rest of the story? that's interesting Paula
