Sorry for the delay - blame it on the festive season! And technical incompetence has caught up with me again today, and I can't get the lj-cut to work.
As ever, my deepest respect and thanks to Annie Proulx.

First, Ennis went to look for Jack in that County Fair in 1965 but didn't find him? So he literally lived his whole life alone and lonely, never married and had a family?
It surprised and amused me to see Jack still needs his itches scratched at the ripe old age of 63...LOL! Perhaps Ennis stirred something in his heart, and his body as well?
I am an avid reader and i spent most of time reading. But I truly don't remember when is the last I read romance between two old people in their 60s. I can't wait to see more!

Basic instincts never die. I'm 78, and I know what I'm talking about. Why am I reading about these relationships? Married 48 years to a wonderful woman, but still wonder what if? Of course the body fails the capacity for anything physical, but I still enjoy the company of men.
i truly love your wonderful style in this story, and i am looking forward to find out more about the years before for ellis - and why should anybody "worry" him being with kids? did i get something wrong here? thank you so much for a great update!
HI Ramona!!! Yeah, There are a LOT of questions for this story, isn't there? I keep running scenarios over in my head, but don't know anything for sure!
I am just thrilled that you are writing another Brokeback story. This is an absolutely intriguing premise, and your writing is incredible as always. Can't wait for more!
You write so well - the back-story of Ellis' describing his homosexual earnings with his deep rooted homophobic actions compared to Jesse's more ready acceptance of his sexuality was most revealing.
The incident with the children showing that Ellis may still have some softness under that hardened exterior is like a quiet promise of what we may find about Ellis as the story progresses.
It seemed so fitting that Ellis would be as his most attractive doing what he does best and that is handling animals.

So when it rains it pours, isn't it? No old romance for so long and now two in a week!
