THE OUTLAND

Genre: AU
Rating: NC-17 if you wait long enough
Feedback: Any and all is welcome
Disclaimer: These are Annie Proulx's brilliant original characters and her story, and I have treated it and them (and her) with as much respect as I can muster.

You got me crying. I kept saying to myself, "Wake up, Jack, wake up!" Loved how Ennis held him and cried. Jack's voice is perfection. I love the way you have his internal voice and how he feels removed and know Ennis is bathing and taking care of him but he can't feel.

Great job. I love this story, keep on posting!

This is so sad, Jack wants so hart to be able to hold Ennis, Ennis doing everything for Jack and when he hugged Jack and cried I just lost it.
What a great story, thank you so much for writing this.

I am so glad you posted -- I keep meaning everyday to express my appreciation for the first chapter of this story, to which I would have added, "when is the next chapter coming?!?!" And I agree with neptunerising above, it is a jewel, just exquisite (the very words I was going to use!) There is so much life in this, in Ennis's second chance that you have given him. I love all of Ennis's chatter about stuff like his horses growing fat and impatient as they waited for two good riders ... and good for Ennis, using his (hopefully temporary) powers to get rid of the 'stache! Ennis's sleeping ritual with pushing around the bed and all the affection he shows for Jack in the midst of doing all the hard stuff of his care, are beautifully done, and developed and described in a way that is a believable change from the old Ennis. Jack's thoughts are sweet and painful and beautifully written. Many, many thanks for writing and sharing this wonderful story.
