Don't forget that Bobby and the Twist elders had gone visiting that day so J&E had plenty of time to get perky ;) I don't think boys that age would willingly jump to the right conclusion about their fathers.

Amazing chapter. Incredibly written. I don't have the gift of words to describe how perfect it was. I loved reading Bobby's point of view. Thanks so much for sharing. - B

I've got no words to say how much I enjoyed this chapter. Although it was painful at times. Canon-near.

You made me cry here, because I was moved: ''And it hits me, the thing that's so different about Dad. He's happy. Not tipsy and amiable happy, not sweet-talking the customers happy, not excruciatingly painful father-and-son happy. Just warm-from-within happy.''

But I cried here as well because I felt again the hopelessness Jack felt after the divorce trip: ''And I kept waking up during the night because I was dreaming my dog must be trapped somewhere and howling real low and sorrowful. But it wasn't the dog, it wasn't Tuffy ....''

Well, I can't quote the whole chapter to quote all the nice bits I've noticed...

Thank you very, very much for writing!

Antonella

Poor Jack. I just love the way OS Jack's pain is hidden from us until the end, and we have to fill in the gaps with our own emotions.
