Jaime had grown accustomed to life in a hut but he did think the compound was a slight improvement despite its strange otherworldy features. Above all things, he wished he had had the foresight to steal a mattress although he found his bedding as well as the sand beneath the hut to be quite tolerable since he had never slept well on his own.
"It will do," he said with a small smile. "Who is it that you share this room with?"
"I imagine it will." The corners of Curt's mouth quirked devilishly. Pressing his ass against the edge of the wardrobe's counter, he crossed his legs idly, gesturing for Jaime to have a seat upon his bed.
"His name is Lionel. He's not a bad guy. Likes to take pictures and shit with his camera, though it isn't like he can develop them here." Realizing that Jaimie may not know what a camera is or why Lionel could not develop his pictures, he tried to explain. "A camera is a little...well, it's a machine that takes an image, kind of like a painting, of a person. You have to have certain chemicals to make the pictures show up."
The Knight sat down on the bed, looking about the room before turning his attention back to Curt. "It's okay," Jaime said with a laugh. He did not mind the explanation but he had learned a bit about Earth and the devices from that world. "I have met Lionel and he explained cameras to some degree. I have seen pictures in books."
Curt felt a bit like an ass for explaining something Jaime already knew about. Then again, how was he to know Jaime had met his roommate before?
Laughing a little, Curt shook his head. "I shouldn't have assumed. Nothing is as it seems here. I would do well to remember that."
Pushing his hips off the counter, he jutted one hip out at an angle before raising a hand high above his head. Stretching, his frame made one long, lean line of sinewy muscle. A beat, and then he lowered his arm as he took one step and then another toward Jaime, cocksure and cat-like. "Sometimes it is not bad to assume, however."
