Thas good! I love working at the hospital...but I needed a change. In fact, one of the main reasons I am leaving the department happened this morning. I got a phone call at 530 this morning because someone called out sick, but I'm not on call, the manager is supposed to handle those things on the weekends.

The joy of abuse. I have been in the position many times where they needed a worker and they knew i was always one to say YES - that went on for years and finally i got to the point where i could say NO!

This morning they asked "did I wake you up?" and I said, "Um...yeah." I told them to call the manager because I wasn't on call and that, in fact, I've never been on call. She said "oh, then why do they always call you?"

The department is really going to suck without me for sure.

"About only half of the department realizes how screwed they really are now that I'm leaving."

does it make me a bad person that when I'm in a position like that, I get a measure of joy seeing my (soon-to-be)former co-workers scrambling to face the reality of being without their crutch?

HA...I don't think it makes you a bad person...just enjoying a bad moment maybe?

I feel bad for my employees but not for my bosses.
