Does anyone read read this journal?

I have a writing journal for this sort of thing, but... I'm 100% certain no one reads that. So, I'm posting this here.

I'm retiring from short fiction writing File this under shit you guys have absolutely no reason to care about >.>. - for now, at least. I've received one rejection too many. True, I got some nice contest buzz, but that certainly ( Read more... )

Huzzah! And a big thank you for offering. *assuming "Gimme" translates to: Yes, I will read this and give you feedback.*

I'm finishing up the rewrite now, but it should be done shortly. Any preference on how I send it along?

No problem :)

I can message you my e-mail address and you can send it along as a word document. I can read it in segments and send you feedback via email as I go through it.

That would be great... especially since I'm still retooling the ending.

Sorry to hear that. :( Hopefully NaNoWriMo will help you figure things out, get you back on the novel track.

Bisexual zombie novelette? Color me intrigued. I'd take a look! I'm not always the best beta for plot commentary, but I'm decent with spelling and grammar (not that it seems like you need much help in that department). So, um... I could try to beta? :D

"Try to beta" sounds wonderful. Just tell me how you'd like me to send the story along.

No worries about going through the story looking for things to correct. Detailed crit is welcome, but really I'm just desperate for more than one reader's PoV.

The story has been rejected once. The editor liked the concept but felt the story just took too damn long to get there. I've cut it down some since, and I'm currently rewriting the ending. So some opinions on pace and plotting would be nice... but, again, just happy with feedback in general.

My computer has no space (literally-- it can't even hold cookies in the cache anymore, very annoying), so if you send it along in html or some kind of txt or rtf format that I may read it on my internet browser, that'd be awesome. My email is gypsymaria (at) gmail (dot) com.

Looking forward to it!

GAH! I can't even log into EMAIL now! D: LJ, FB, and Twitter seem to be working, but not Gmail or even Yahoo! Ok, I swear I will get this fixed... in the meantime, if you've sent something to me, I probably won't see it until I can sneak onto my boyfriend's laptop. >_

It's my first year too. I haven't gone looking around the site very much yet. Come November, once I figure out how the hell I friend, I'll definitely look you up.

Good luck! I'm going to be cheating and adding 50k to a preexisting novel in hopes of finally finishing it.

Er, thanks, but I'm just original short stories. I'll still be writing fanfiction... Though I will be taking a break from that for the month of November, while I'm doing NaNoWriMo.

I'm not much of a Zombie person, but good luck with that. XD

It's a shame that you're not writing short fiction anymore. I recently stumbled upon your journal for you 9/5 stuff and I was REALLY hoping you'd continue Survivor's Guilt, it's such a good story. ^^

But I hope everything goes well with the novel business. <3 Keep us posted!

Giving up short original stories as in original fiction, not fanfiction. Though, at the moment I just don't have time for the latter. Hopefully, some extra free time will come my way soon.

My zombie story did get picked up by a small publisher. I'm getting paid a pretty trivial amount, and I have some doubts about the quality of stories published there but, hey, gotta start somewhere, right ^-^?

Oh. Pffft. Sorry, I can't read apparently! -Missed the word original.- I haven't read any of your original work. I think I'll go play ISpy for some of that. :3

OMG! That's exciting! I mean, it might be a bit questionable, but yea! I agree! You do gotta start somewhere! :3 My aunt is a novelist. -Nods.- But she never tells me much about the business. D; I wish she would.
