They are! Keep in mind I teach over 400 students and most of them have normal names. These are just a few of the gems, and with 400 names there's plenty of room for funny ones.

They chose them themselves! It's crazy!
I'm assuming some they found in a videogame or a book, translated their own names literally or phonetically, or just took random words out of context.
I've been considering talking to them about their names since if they ever came to the US they probably would want to change them, especially Phat, Windy, and Alchy.
