Bemused to find myself in March. Wasn't it just January?  Dan will be 7 on Tuesday and this year I bit the bullet and blew £120 on a party for him at our local laser gun place. Had some misgivings but actually turned out to be worth every penny. They provide invites, food, drink, party bags and obviously the laser games. All we had to do was turn ( Read more... )

Ooh! Ace Cake!

We've taken a bunch of the Sunday Schoolers to our local Laser Blast a couple of times, too - and I totally agree it is worth every penny of organising and washing up we don't have to do!

Sometimes sermons can do that, can't they?

And yes - sometimes you just have to stop making excuses for someone - but remember (this is a litany almost, from a 'debriefing' system we use at work); "We cannot change the other person, only how we react to them. We cannot change their behaviour, only our own."

This does not mean bending over backwards for someone - it means finding ways to not be stressed by them!

Also, I am so glad to hear that first organ lesson went well, too.

First organ lesson last Wednesday which was nerve racking but brilliant.
That's great. *is totally amazed by the idea of playing the organ*
