Hastily-written in answer to this prompt at the Spock/Uhura kink meme, so if there are any mistakes, please let me know! Concrit is always appreciated.

I kept hearing "The Ultmate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" in my head as I was writing this first bit.

Whoa...you got skillzs boo...you got me wondering what you can come up with when you actually plan something out...in any case this was simply brilliant. I like the idea of Uhura fighting for her man....surprisingly sooo...LOL. I didnt think it took away from her Ms Independent persona at all. And I love Spock's reaction...how could he not be aroused when his woman clearly made a statement when she fought for him. So when she won I loved it when he couldnt help but respond that indeed he was Nyota's. Go ahead Ms Uhura...you did the dayum thang!

I think it's an inherent part of human nature to find it a little sexy when our 'mate' gets possessive. (Well, within reason, of course.) It shows passion.

I wouldn't think it would take away from Uhura's independance - in fact, I would say the opposite, in that it asserts her strength of character. But perhaps it all depends on how it's portrayed.

But the way you wrote it was masterful, because you have left that open to the reader to make up his/her mind.
