Heya, we're still getting together and doing swordfighting on Sundays from about noon to 4-ish. We meet on the west side of Cheeseman Park, where 12th runs into the park. We fight with shinai, but we have people from all sorts of styles so you aren't constrained by japanese style swordsmanship.

I kept expecting the shinai to hurt more when I was hit by them, but they didn't do much more than sting a little.

Until I got hit in the knee, of course.
