Wherein I review some of the events of the last few weeks

did you get the kanji pics I sent? thanks in advance if you can help me figure out what they say! I will not wear a shirt that says "I'm a dumbass gaijin" unless I do it knowingly.

Your shinai group sounds tempting but I've never learned a single thing about working with an edged weapon. Are beginners allowed? I'm in San Fran for 10 days starting Saturday but it sounds like a fun thought for fall...

I did not get those pics. It may be a storage space issue if you sent them to the PoE account. I'll send you an email with my GMail address.

Beginners are encouraged, and one of the best teaching tools is practical application. Not only do we have basic shinai, but we have a guy who has put some together that resembles rapiers and smallswords. So, come on down!

I just sent them to Gmail. Let me know if you get them or not.

A rapier shinai would be great... IF it didn't weigh a ton! That was my issue with using a shinai at the Irish Fest.

Then I would suggest the smallsword. Less range, but lighter and therefore faster.

Two things. I got my winter motorcycle jacket from the U.K. via ebay, and it has been three weeks already. How long does something take from the u.k? I'm about to e-mail the guy.
Second, I don't know how to do shinai or any sort of combat but would like to watch and slowly learn with your sunday group. I have watched people for years spar at faire after hours in front of Ian's booth. The park is so close to me why not right?

Cool, I have NDK this weekend, but I'll be there next weekend.

I don't know how long it takes for something to get here from the UK. I've been waiting about three weeks for something from Australia...
