Title: Another Drabble Spectacular, December 24th to 28th
Rating: PG13
Series: G1
Summary: Drabbles concerning Red Alert and Inferno, based on the word of the day from Dictionary.com
Warnings: None
Disclaimer: As per usual, the good things in life are not mine to have, but belong to someone else... in this case Hasbro, Takara and IDW and anyone else I’ve forgotten…
Authors Notes: It’s official - I am mad.  Having started the houndxmirage  Three's a Charm challenge, flarn_fanfic said how she wished someone was doing something similar for redxinferno.  And I’m easily suggestible when it comes to that pairing.  So I shall be attempting a drabble (100 words) every day.  Feel free to poke me (gently) if I miss a day?
Feedback makes friends.  Flames dealt with by the masters of paranoia and fire, Red Alert and Inferno.

December 24 - chaffer
Red Alert looked around the market.  He had to find a servant; he couldn’t handle his estate on his own, but the noise was almost overwhelming.  He didn’t want to chaffer over the price - he just wanted to purchase a servant and get back home where it was quiet and peaceful.
He stopped at the first stall and bought the first mech that caught his optics.
“My name is Inferno, Master.” The large red mech introduced himself.
“Red Alert.” He led the mech back to his transport, eager to begin training Inferno to do everything he needed him to do.

December 25 - eleemosynary
Inferno often gave eleemosynary donations.  Having come into money quite by chance, he wanted to give something back to those who raised him.  And as he’d been raised in an orphanage, he gave to any organisation that needed help.
It was through these donations that he met Red Alert.  Though they came from different backgrounds, they got on surprisingly well.  Inferno asked whether Red Alert would meet him away from the party, somewhere they could be alone.  He didn’t think he would ever feel as happy as when Red Alert agreed.
Until he asked Red Alert to bond with him.

December 26 - powwow
With the information Jazz and Red Alert had discovered, they held a powwow to decide what to do next.  Inferno was in the meeting, purely because the area was heavily forested and he would more than likely be needed to combat any fires.
“So we’re agreed then?” Prowl asked, noting down the final details on his datapad.  There was a chorus of affirmatives.
“All right Autobots, roll out.” Optimus Prime stood up, signalling the end of the meeting.  Inferno stayed seated, running through everything he might need with him.
“Inferno?”
“Comin’, Red.” He stood up and followed Red Alert out.

December 27 - eschatological
He’d never thought that this would happen.  That it could happen.  He thought he’d designed his security systems perfectly.

He was wrong.

They’d gotten through in an Autobot shuttle, and now Optimus Prime was dead.  And they were prisoners in their own brig.  There was no time now for any sort of eschatological thoughts.  They were going to die, and he would find out for certain.
“It’ll be all right, Red.” Inferno squeezed his hand, voice confident.  But Red Alert wasn’t so sure.  Even though the Decepticons had all but disappeared from the city, he knew they would come back.

December 28 - gambrinus
“They are not Gambrinus.” Red Alert snorted, staring at the cube of high-grade in disdain.  “Just because they create high-grade, does not mean that it is any good.”
“But Red…”
“I know that they’re your brothers and you feel duty bound to try every concoction of theirs, but it does not mean that I have to.”
“Red…”
“Besides, someone has to drag your sorry aft to the medbay if something goes wrong.”
“Nothing’s gonna go wrong, Red.”

When Inferno onlined in the medbay, tanks empty and aching, Red Alert was there, an ‘I told you so’ expression on his faceplates.
