Alton Brown host of Iron Chef America is coming to Austin!

Hmm according to both Alton's Site and nimsey in this post, Mr Alton Brown of Good Eats fame and the Iron Chef America Commentator, (yes, that show i keep getting my name on) is going to be in Austin for a book signing - Hmm wonder if my tires can make Austin! i *want* to see Alton! anyone want to take a day trip to Austin on Sunday ( Read more... )

If I were not going to Austin every weekend in Feb. then I just might go. He is super cool.

Man, that would be cool, but I've got lots on my schedule this weekend. And I've been wanting to go back to Book People. I attended signings by Bruce Campbell and Irvine Welsh there a couple of years ago and fell in love with the place.

Bastard LJ didn't post my comment! So here's a quick and dirty rehash:

Coffee: Absolutely still on. Looking forward to it!

Austin: Consider going even if you don't have a buddy to go with. I had to drive down there solo for in October for a Rachel Brice workshop, and I had a great time. Just bring some great tunes.

Alternatively, Alton may come back to the Dallas area some time. I know he did a signing at the Borders at Lovers and Greenville. That's not nearly as far away. :)
