The second one is impossibly sexy. Thank you Gossip Girl for the head's up on this group.
It was me on that road
But you couldn't see me
Too many lights out, but nowhere near here
Memory is a funny thing. Sometimes it works and you remember with such clarity and precision. Sometimes you have a vague watercolour of that moment in time. Sometimes it is lost until something brings it back.
It was me on that road
Still you couldn't see me
And then flashlights and explosions
Sometimes it is a song. Out of the blue. Brings you back to the texture of that moment. The consistency of your tongue changes. The taste emerges.
Roads end getting nearer
We cover distance but not together
I am the storm I am the wonder
And the flashlights, nightmares
And sudden explosions
You remember a dark room. The glow of the television. The bodies surrounding you. The moments associated with that song. The smells sit at the tip of your nose.
I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
Memories need to be bottled and preserved.
It's about you and the sun
A morning run
The story of my maker
What I have and what I ache for
They are too fragile and too delicate. Too fleeting.
I've got a golden ear
I cut and I spear
And what else is there?
Sometimes I hate memory because of what it brings back to me. Something I don't have. Something I never wanted. Something I asked for. Something asked of me. Something taken. Something lost. Something destroyed. Something created.
Roads getting nearer
We cover distance still not together
If I am the storm if I am the wonder
Will I have a flashlights nightmares
And sudden explosions?
I'm on fire with those somethings. Lost in the chasms of my memory. Running through them at a great speed. I find it all too much.
There's no room where I can go and
You've got secrets too
I need something to ground me. I need to stop using my memory as a blanket from reality. I need to live in this moment in time.
I don't know what more to ask for
I was given just one wish
