I'm sorry he didn't like the movie, although I'm kind of surprised. I've seen it twice now with two packed houses, and the response was overwhelmingly glowing both times. Since I haven't heard an opposing opinion from anyone, I'm curious to know what exactly about the script, acting, and effects Ryan didn't like. Unfortunately, other than mentioning that the movie contains violence, his "review" consists of a single, vague adjective. Why does he think the movie is "bad," and what would have made it better for him?
It may be an expectation film, one of those instances where the trailer ruins the film for the person by creating a different expectation. I know THE FOUNTAIN's trailer ruined that movie for me. Not only did I expect to see a different kind of film, but I also *wanted* to.
Maybe. I know that reactions to movies can be very influencd by one's expectations going in. I don't really remember the trailer very well, except that I know it didn't give away much about the plot.
For me the big question will be whether any theater reasonably close to me will carry it unless it goes into wide release. Maybe I'll see it while I'm in Michigan.

I'll probably wait for more reviews.
