I always thought of Sokka as more of a practical than a scholarly guy, but I love the concept of this fic enough to shove that aside. Well written and interesting, and Suki always deserves more love.

This started out a little slowly, but I loved the conclusion and how it tied in the show's developments. Vivid writing, too, though one part--where Suki's covered skin is markedly lighter--would have been clearer with some comparison, such as lighter than the sandy skin around her eyes. Or something. The part up to the actual excavation gave a rich sense of the world after the war, but some judicious editing would have helped the pace. The haggling at the end was Sokka at his best, with his wit and resourcefulness on full display. And I'm glad Professor Zei lives. :)
