To me, one of the best things about this pairing has always be the born/ unwilling enemies element, covered up and melted down by all their experiences and transformations (for the better) but still there in their shared memories. I'm fascinated by the possibility for characters with a big arch to compare current situations to the past, especially because they can reflect more clearly on the present and see how far they've come. Though rarely done I am a sucker for reflection stories like these, and the clever build up and comedic revelation are a so fun. I love how you build atmosphere and then just abruptly kill it completely in that snort. It's like hearing the soundtrack stop and the lights come on. And of course THANK YOU for giving us a glimpse of a many-years-later-epilogue situation of one of the top fanfics out there <3 (always hungry for more!)
