Why do I keep doing these?
1: What do you put on hotdogs?
either ketchup, mustard, ketchup and mustard, or chili and cheese
2: Do you say "anticlimatic" or "anticlimactic"?
with the C
3: Do you check flyers before grocery shopping?
rarely. If the price of food keeps rising, though, I may have to start
4: Blue, black, or some other colour pen ink?
Black at work, blue for personal
5: Do you use your parking brake?
Only if parking on a hill.
6: Look to your left. How many framed pictures are on the wall?
Good guess. Um... 7, looks like.
7: Do you know how to play chess?
More or less, yes
8: How often do you clean the interior of your car?
When it needs it. I usually do a good window polishing once a season or so, though.
9: Do you ever read the last few pages first?
Nope. Never really understood the point of that.
10: Ever fallen in the shower?
Probably. I'm not the most graceful of people, ya know.
11: On a scale of 1-10, how likely are you to swear at other drivers?
8, assuming they can't hear me. 0 if they can.
12: What's the worst thing you've ever called someone you care about?
I'm not sure. Probably nothing vulgar, though. Simply swearing pales in comparison to a heartfelt curse. "Disgusting" is the worst thing that immediately comes to mind.
13: Do you have a Snuggie?
Nope.
14: Are you allergic to anything?
I haven't discovered anything specific. I do have problems with seasonal allergies, though.
15: Do you have any TV shows on DVD?
Several, actually. I don't have cable TV, so anything I want to watch has to be either streamed or bought on disc.
16: How many times do you hit the snooze button before finally getting out of bed?
Rarely more than once, and I usually get up at the first alarm. Anything more than that, and I run the risk of being late for work.
17: Ever driven away in anger?
Yes. I learned long ago that sometimes it's better to get away and calm down before saying something that all parties would regret later.
18: What's your favourite freezie colour?
I'm... not entirely sure of what a Freezie is.
19: Are you a vegetarian?
Not even close.
.
20: Do you have a garbage receptacle beside you? What's on top?
Yes, but it's empty right now.
21: Do you cross out your mistakes or erase/whiteout them?
Cross out. It's a holdover habit from work, where we have to cross mistakes out.
22: Ever torn something up that you instantly knew was too important for such treatment?
I am sure I probably have, although nothing immediately comes to mind.
23: Do you think that things will get better?
I... don't know.
24: Do you have an unpopular opinion? What is it?
While I am definitely pro-spirituality, I am becoming increasingly anti-religion. (
example) Since I live in what is often thought of as the Buckle of the Bible Belt, this is not an opinion I share very often.
25: What's your favourite quote?
"I am going to concentrate on what's important in life. I'm going to strive everyday to be a kind and generous and loving person. I'm going to keep Death right here, so that anytime I even think about getting angry at you or anybody else, I'll see Death and I'll remember." -Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider, Northern Exposure, Do The Right Thing, 1992
26: Did you/are you going to go to prom?
I went. Wasn't impressed. And was also distracted, since I knew my sister was at home with a high fever at the time. I never was much of a fan of big crowds anyway.
27: What's the most physically painful thing you've ever experienced?
Probably the incident with the foot surgery. The doctor kinda-sorta botched the anesthetic and sent the needle through my foot. And I promptly passed out.
28: What's the most emotionally/mentally painful thing you've ever experienced?
The death of my Grandfather, I believe.
29: Have you ever legitimately saved a person's life?
Not directly. Not that I can recall, anyway.
30: What's your favourite book genre?
Usually either comedy or sci-fi / fantasy. Bonus points if it's both!
31: Did you like "Gigli"? Be honest.
I've never seen it. I keep meaning to, though, in a "MST3K" sense.
32: Have you ever walked out of a movie at the theatre?
I did. I don't recall which movie it was, though. Must not have been that interesting.
33: Do you peek between your fingers during the scary scenes?
Heh, no. It's very rare that I would watch anything like that, though.
34: What was your reaction to Tatum getting killed whilst stuck in the pet door in Scream?
Sounds messy. I've never seen it, though. Not a big fan of slasher flicks.
35: Do dogs like you?
It's kinda strange. Dogs will either love me at first sight or despise me at first sight. Other people have commented on this.
36: Would you say that you project an air of authority?
No. I have been told that I give off an "unsettling" aura at times, though. And/or "protective". Like a bear, I guess.
37: Do people listen when you speak?
Not usually, no. I rarely speak out loud, and I've been told that I tend to mumble if I'm not paying attention. I'm used to being the only one listening to my words, I guess. When I do speak up, though, my voice is powerful and projecting. ...not that anyone listens.
38: How are your elbows? Are they okay?
*blink, blink* I... guess they are okay. I don't notice anything unusual about them.
39: What is one thing that you do exceptionally well? Be honest.
I am being honest when I say that there isn't anything I do exceptionally well. There's a lot of things I do fairly well, but nothing exceptionally well.
40: Do you use torrents?
Rarely, and not nearly as much as I used to. If I can find something legitimately and for a fair price, I'll buy it. I will still go to torrents if I'm looking for something that I can't find anywhere else, though.
41: When was the last time you paid for music?
Not too long ago. I think the last song I bought was "
Let It Die" by Ozzy Osbourne. I knew the first time I heard it that I had to own the song. It... resonates with me. One of my theme songs, yes.
42: Are you addicted to technology?
Absolutely
43: Pick a person (you don't need to give their name). How do you feel about them? Be as honest as you can get yourself to be.
...resigned confusion. I do not think I will ever truly understand.
44: Do you check your computer's dictionary for the definition of words you'd otherwise feel confident about using during in-person interactions? Just to be sure?
When I am writing, yes. I am prone to unintentional malapropisms.
45: How heavily do you rely on spellcheck and autocorrect?
Spellcheck, yes. Usually because I tend not to watch the screen when I type, and it picks up typos. Autocorrect, not so much.
46: Have you ever gotten into an argument on the internet? Did you win?
I am not very good at forming arguments. I naturally try to see things from all angles, and my points tend to come off more as leading, probing questions than statements (Socratic?). As a result, I tend to move too slowly during an argument for the internet.
...besides, there's too many trolls out there anyway just trying to get people riled up.
47: Do you pause movies/TV shows if you have to go to the bathroom or the kitchen, or do you just let them keep playing?
Depends. Do I care about what I am watching? Is anyone else watching with me?
48: If you use a regular alarm clock, do you have it set to music or that obnoxious beeping?
Obnoxious beeping. Music all too often gets integrated into whatever I am dreaming about. I suually listen to the radio at night anyway.
49: Peter Pan?
Wasted a golden opportunity
50: How often do you fall up the stairs?
Very rarely. I'm tall, clumsy, and have big feet. As a result, I am very careful when walking around stairs.
51: Do you pronounce "anti" as ant-eye or ant-ee? (Example: "That scene was very anticlimactic.")
ant-eye, usually. I've done both, though. Depends on the context.
52: Do you pronounce "via" as vee-uh or vie-uh? (Example: "We can get there via Tremont Street.")
vee-uh, usually. Again, I've done both.
53: How often do you forget to close your parentheses?
Why? Did I leave them open again?
I am everything. You are me. I am you.
