Technologically Challenged

Kate was not a girl to be bound by schedules and routines. She only barely managed to make it to all her classes on time - not for laziness, but for the free spirit that told her to eat when hungry, sleep when tired, play when bored and do as your feelings urge you to do without being governed by calendar or clock ( Read more... )

If it was one thing that Roxy liked about her schedule, it was that it allowed for frequent times that most would use for rest and relaxation. But, Roxy seemed to rarely use her time for that purpose. She had alot of work to do...and with the potions lab being used for the actual intended purpose, that left the Hopi girl to convert her room into a makeshift lab.

Of course, she would have to clean everything up before her roommates returned from their classes. Which is where we find Roxy now, sitting in the middle of the room with her gauntlets laid out and dissassembled. It was the knocking that caused her to whip her head around towards the door.

"Henh?" she quirked an eyebrow upwards. Visitors were not something she was expecting. Springing back up to her feet, she went over and opened the door to a very puzzeling sight.

"Uh....Hi?" she responded, unsure of what was going on.

"Hi, Roxy." As classmates the two Slayers already knew one another from the courses they shared, and as her best friend's roommate, this wasn't the first time that Kate had dropped by. As expected she took a glance around the room for the girl she most often visited. "Is Ralph here?"

Those blue eyes searched, but found no one other than Roxy there in the big four-person bedroom. "That's good," she said somewhat surprisingly. "I actually...wanted to see you?" She clutched onto her book a little tighter. "I was wondering....if maybe, you could help me with something kind of important?"

Roxy took a step back allowing Kate to see the room, and the fact that she was currently it's only occupant. As she went on, Roxy was further surprised that she was not seeking out her roommate.

"Me?" she pointed to herself, still quite surprised, "Uh....OK. Oh, come in!"

Noticing the book, she tried to figure out what it was. But, finding the title was a little difficult. Closing the door behind her fellow Slayer, she suddenly remembered something quite important, "Ah, just watch your feet!" she said and hurried back to her little "workplace".

"Heheh, uh, just take a seat over there...I just need to put all this away." she said as she sat back down on the ground and began to reassemble her devices, "So....whattaya need help with?"

The tanned girl slowly entered the room, avoiding all the important-looking parts scattered out all over the floor. Already familiar with this room she casually took a seat on the corner of Ralph's bed, still holding that book close to her chest as if it were her most prized possession in the world.

"I need help...finding somebody," she said a little hesitantly. "Or, at least, finding out more stuff about them?" Her eyes wandered from Roxy to her book, slowly finding their way back to the disassembled devices and to Roxy once again. "I know you're smart enough to always be working on those robot-hands you have," she then explained. "So! I was wondering, if you was smart with computer-kinds of stuff, too?"
