Once her friend's head disappeared once more, Kate went back to quietly observing the other students until she heard Liz running along beside her, almost falling on top of her. With the sudden embrace, she began to smile a small bit, though it was apparent that other things were still on her mind.
"I'm, okay." She exhaled as she tried to think of what to say. "Another of my good friends...I don't think she likes me as much anymore. Nothing is wrong, really." There was a long pause as she simply sat there, enjoying her friend's embrace. "I am just confused," she finally said. "I try to learn, but I still do not understand people very well."
"Perhaps I do not belong here after all."

She fell silent for a full minute, focusing on the images that raced through her mind. "Why do you think that... Miss Utena doesn't like you anymore? What happened? What do you not understand?" Liz cuddled close against Katelyn and looked up at her blue eyes, waiting for her to answer.

"Ralph doesn't use Elphaba," the small girl murmured, almost too afraid to continue the subject. "She really loves her." She stayed close to Katelyn until she felt the reassuring squeeze. Liz relaxed a little at that point and cast a shy smile up at her friend.
"Of course you are." Liz stretched out one hand to stroke through his white fur. "You're still special. But differently special than Katelyn. Just like Terence. All three of you are special, but all three of you are in a different way special."

"Liz 'cheers you up,' does she?" Though the cat could have meant any number of things after he looked to Katelyn, his eyes went to Liz's cooking soon enough. "I wouldn't mind some cheering up, either. Unless this was supposed to be private?" Not much was kept from Artemis, but he did like to keep up appearances.
