As she spoke, Kate noticed her new friend's expression sour. She did not know why until she saw the Witch's eyes drift over her shoulder and then heard the one voice she dreaded most. She winced, visible to Ginny but hidden to Vanya behind a mane of thick brown hair. "Don't tell me," she said quietly but not too quietly to Ginny, "that you have to live with her?" Blue eyes filled with confusion, as if the very thought was almost impossible to imagine.
