Today, I did something I've never done before: I made jam. It is delicious.

We've got so many blackberries from the brambles out back--every time I go out, I pick at least three cups of berries, then I go out a few hours later and it doesn't look like I've picked any at all. So I saved them in the fridge for a couple of days and today Bella and I ( Read more... )

Where are you getting blackberries from in Burlington? I really do like them, Katy's been making me peach-blackberry pies. I can imagine a happy Bella squishing up pints of berries.

I'm getting the blackberries from my backyard! They won't stop! Next time you're in town, ask Aaron to show them to you, they're taking over. In addition to fourteen mature plants, every where you look there are brambles about two feet high, that have sprung up from dropped berries, and some of them even have berries already. I was actually plotting to give you one of those for your wedding, but then I thought that would be a pain in the ass to travel with so I found something else. However, you are welcome to come dig one or four if you're interested!

I'm so proud of you, sweetie! I really really really want to stay home when we have a baby, but it's not easy finding a part-time stay-at-home internet job. You really lucked out being able to work with Aaron's company. The only thing I've found are internet surveys... *sigh*. I dunno, maybe it's just not in the cards for me to stay at home...

But jam! Yay for the jam plan! :-D That sounds like so much fun. I can't wait to have a yard!!

Well, my job is really really part-time; it's hardly sufficient income. But, there seems to be room for expansion. I know I lucked out with this job, even just because it gives me something to do occasionally. Who knows what will come along by the time you're ready to have kids, though.

lol, I've been thinking of Friends for all of the jam--Bella asked for jam in a bowl with a spoon and I could only think of Joey.

HA! That's awesome. Yes, I'm sure the time will come when you drop her off at the movies with a jar of jam and a spoon... Actually, let's hope you never do that.

It's yummy, but I think I'd at least send her with homemade cookies or something. Maybe those shortbread ones with jam in the middle. :)

I did something right with my job! This morning I got an email from the Editor-in-Chief at one of the radiology publications that I emailed the press release to yesterday, following up on something to make sure it qualified to be included in their stuff. Aaron told me to forward that to Kyle and let him handle it, and I did, but then I decided to do it myself and I convinced the guy that of course it was fine, and he agreed! Sorry, I'm very excited that I did something right all on my own.
