Sansa Stark had imagined her wedding ever since she could remember, but her dream never did come true. Instead of a beautiful wedding surrounded by all her loved ones, Sansa was delivered by her monstruous king to his even more monstrous-looking uncle. Sure, he was the lesser evil of the Lannisters, but he was a Lannister nonetheless, and regarding looks he didn't even seem like a Lannister.

Not quite the ceremony she had pictured in her mind. It was a nightmare she would never wake up from.

She desired to be a good wife all her life. She had prayed to the Mother that she'd become beautiful and desirable for her husband, and to the Maiden to keep her pure until that day, but now she was praying to the Warrior to give her the strength she needed so much to survive each day. And most of the time, she didn't possess it. She could see it in his eyes, those eerie orbs of different colors, just how fake her words and actions were, when all she wanted was to go home.

Home... she had heard that didn't exist anymore. That Theon had burnt it to the ground and slaughtered her brothers. Winterfell was gone, and so were Bran and Rickon. And her remaining brother, Robb...

Last night, she had overheard a conversation between her husband and the knight named Bronn. The Imp expressed true concern about how she'd react to the news, and she might've been genuinely impressed by that amount of humanity on a Lannister if the news were about anything else. Robb... and Mother as well...

Tyrion was a Lannister, but he didn't seem like a monster. Personality-wise, at least. He was kind and understanding, or seemed like it. He protected her from Joffrey's torment and had stood up against everyone once and stopped the king's orders to beat her up. But Joffrey seemed nice at first too, and now here she was. Sansa did not plan on making the same mistakes again; it was a fact that there was no one in court she genuinely mattered to, not even her husband, if she didn't possess her claim to the North.

And so, Sansa decided not to open her heart to Tyrion, or anyone. She was tired of it being crushed by the lions.
