9x11 - Fourth Horseman, pt 2
I didn't actually feel the need to watch this episode until a couple weeks after I downloaded it, because I'm so bored with the way SG-1 is going. The Orlin thing? BORING. Anything involving Dr. Lee? BORING. Landry and Dr. Lam's Big Family Drama? BORING. Even the Jaffa political drama is boring! How does that happen? I love Jaffa political drama!
But! This episode? With the adorable Mitchell and Daniel mocking of the Prior? An improvement! Not there yet, but not so bad that it drives me away from the show, unlike the episode before it.
Also, Hammond, aww. Come back, Hammond! Landry is boring!
Speaking of Landry, Dr. Lam is officially my least favorite Stargate character ever. Her whole, "I'm beginning to understand how hard it must have been for you" was the least touching pseudo-apology ever. She sounded like a petulant 16-year-old. "Fine. It was hard. God, are you happy? I'm going to my room." That's not "This is hard for me to say", it's "I don't believe this at all, but I feel obligated to say the words." Did Michael Shanks demand her job as part of his contract or what?
Also, the fireball burning prior effect is just silly looking.
9x12 - Collateral Damage
That was the cheapest way to give someone backstory ever. And so inelegantly handled. "Side effects may include childhood flashbacks, oops, here's one now!" But hey, it's nice that someone is neither an orphen nor estranged from their family.
9x13 - Ripple Effect
Oh my god, this episode made me bawl. Janet! Oh, Janet, I love you, I miss you! Why can't we send the vaccine back with your team and keep you here? And the hugs at the end, aww. I want a Teal'c hug.
Also, all the Sams! "Finally someone who can keep up with you, huh?" "Yep." was the cutest thing ever. Sam is so cute, a room full of her is almost too cute to bear.
I have to wonder if Martouf was alive on all the other worlds, because if I was an alternate universe Sam and my dead boyfriend showed up and only payed attention to the Sam from the current universe, I'd be a little peeved. Also, isn't Sam dating Jack in our universe? I don't think she's allowed to have romantic interludes with dead ex-boyfriends from alternate universes.
Siler, hello! I missed you, too!
In conclusion: aww, my show brings me joy again! Please continue to not suck, show! And maybe bring back Vala.
I have a bunch of JLU to talk about too, but maybe later. I've got Olympics to watch! (Olymics in Japan are very sad, because everyone is convinced the Japanese will win every sport, and then they don't win any. Seriously, lower your expectations, people.)
