on my mind, in three parts

Apr 03, 2007 12:51

I'm starting out with three topics, I might think of more as I go along...

1) Dream/waking this morning
2) Meetings/work
3) Guster!

Part 1
This one's fairly short. This morning I was having a dream. In the dream, I was asleep and dreaming, but also in the bed were two friends. gregstoll and someone else I can't recall (and I'm pretty sure it wasn't djedi. uh-oh, better watch out! ;o). It was in my apartment and my parents were visiting. They were already awake and moving about. Then a voice in my head (the dream me or the real me? doesn't matter...) started saying "Wake up, Andrew!" This voice was Matt Tramel. And he was being utterly hilarious. He said something along the lines of "Geez, I can't believe you're still asleep while your parents are moving around. You're the only person who could stay asleep and lying around while a voice belonging to someone who's not even here tries to wake you up," and various other things. I don't know exactly what. All I know was that it was in that typically Tramel tone of voice and was so funny that I'm pretty sure I was laughing loudly in my sleep before I woke up--first the dream me, then the real me. It put me in a good mood--nothing like a good laugh to start the day!

Part 2
So, I had a meeting last night and a meeting this morning. Last night's was just my group. While I won't go into details (potentially boring and/or long, you can ask me directly if you're interested and I haven't told you already) my boss basically set me up with a huge and very important task. Potentially difficult, given what I'm working with, but interesting. Hopefully difficult on the order of "challenging" rather than "omg this is impossible". We shall see! This morning's meeting was in the executive conference room and the division managers were all there sitting next to each other. Scary! I never expected to find myself in such a meeting, especially not so soon in my working life. Not like I presented anything, or said or did anything other than mumbling under my breath answers to questions or nodding/shaking my head. But still! Crazy stuff. There was an oblique reference to the task I was assigned last night, though no mention made of my name. That's a good thing, at least until I feel more confident. Totally crazy stuff.

Possibly more later on that.

Part 3
I just got my ticket for the Guster concert (with The Format) on Friday at Stubbs. I've never been to Stubbs before. How's parking? Anyway, if anyone wants to join me I would love for you to do so. It's an outdoor show, tickets are General Admission and $20 (plus $4.50 service charge online). Obviously, as I already bought my ticket, I will be going even if I have to go alone. But it'd be more fun with company!

That's all for now. Yes, I still have this weekend to write about. Check in for more ;)
