He is trying desperately to branch two rapidly separating camps, the right-wing religious nuts and the majority of America. To run as a Republican, I'm afraid he's going to have to sell his soul and change his mind about a lot of things...and potentially lie to one camp or the other.
I hate being able to see multiple sides of an issue. (at least in this case)
Many of those statements that seem to contradict each other are from years apart. Maybe they were about different issues, or something changed in the intervening years. I also know how easy it is to pull viseo and then mess with it. I'm not saying that was done here, but it's possible, and I alway remain skeptical - it's bitten me hard before when I bleieved without thinking. Isn't that what we should be doing, anyway? Make as an informed decision as possible based on what we know and our own reason.
Of course, I also happen to agree with the creators of this video - McCain should not be president, because he can't figure out who he wants to please and what he really wants to do. I agree with djedi for that reason - he can't gather the entire Republican party because they are so widely variant and the moderates tend to royally piss off the ultra-condervatives. There's no way to win and remain honest with yourself and the rest fo teh nation.
