Memories are funny

I was reading through some of my actual posts here and I found I don't remember a lot of it. I mean, at all. I always prided myself on a good memory -- I even like to give myself memory games to make sure I remember things. But there were entire posts in late 2015 which stirred no memory for me at all. I was just coming here to say that very thing! I'll have to just drop a reference to "Ruby Tuesday" and run.

I would not have imagined Nesmith and Adams being great friends either. Cool.

I feel you on the memories. In my head, during my injury I wrote detailed notes of my recovery and treatment in the nursing home. I went back to them because I planned (still do but I wasn't ready) to write a horror novel based on my stay. And instead of that I found an incoherent, whinefest with very little details. So my memory wasn't even real.

The no memory of it comes a lot from AO3's daily updates and I'm like what even IS this story? I wrote that? When? Why?

I've had that happen with writing. I was going over Sean Patrick's timeline once and found copious notes on a time in his life that I had absolutely no memory of having written AT ALL. Couldn't fathom what story I'd had in mind when I wrote the notes. It was totally gone.

I'm with you there. I find that a lot with my nano novels. I write in a fever for a month and then take that Christmas break and the characters are just GONE by the new year
