Pic spam to go with The Flood

So here are photos from last night. I took them with my mobile and was in sort of a rush so the quality is not the best.

Put your wellies on... )

wow. those pictures really tell the story. ::fingers crossed that the rain stops:: it's unusually cool here (whereas last week it was quite warm) and we're expecting rain starting tomorrow. the ground is still pretty saturated from the last round of rain... but so far we've seen nothing like what you have this year.

It stopped yesterday afternoon, but I was kinda busy sleeping. I had a good night's rest, too, but now I feel every muscle in my body from schlepping the sand bags to build the sand castle ;)

I hope there won't be any flooding in your area.

take some ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation in the muscles. I often take a couple *before* I go do something that I know is going to cause muscle fatigue... which, of course, it's too late for now. but taking it after helps a lot too.

I don't think we're going to get much if it does rain. it's now looking like things are going to go north of us, if at all.

I don't have any painkillers; the last time I took paracetamol I felt nausea that was worse than the pain.

Last night me feet killed me because they'd been squeezed into the unforgiving material of the wellies for 14 hours or so.I'm fine today, though.

Yes, please! Although what we had wasn't a downpour but steady rain since Wednesday, not even particularly strong hereabouts. It must have been worse in the Alps.

God grief!

So glad you are alright and nothing was seriously harmed.

Those are great pictures and your narrative really tells the story.

The vocabulary was a challenge, though. So the sun's out and the river is down to its normal level, i.e. you can see the bed in places. It's as if nothing's happened.
