The vast majority of fandoms that have taken sufficient root in my imagination to inspire fic have always been small ones. Couple that with the near-complete lack of any romantic pairing tags, let alone popular ones, and I've always been content with archive stats that would drive many fic authors of my acquaintance to despair. Thank you for this so-timely reminder of your very good and fondly recalled story!
Timely in the sense of the date itself, of course. Also timely in the run-up to this year's FKFicFest. But, oh, the resonance now, today, this month, this year, of such terrorist acts, even more than when you first wrote the story.
Today's NYT has an essay -- and there was a similar one in Slate not long ago -- explaining that this year really is like no other year, this year really is deeply different and widely weird. It isn't 1968, or 1966, or 1919... or the US Civil War, or the Black Death... come again. But we can learn from them. So much to learn...

It's really quite eerie how much more apt it is than it was just six years ago.
