I'm curious, what did you think (if anything) of the Stewart rally in DC? I found the signs really entertaining: "One of us or perhaps both of us is correct", A muslim holding a sign "I scare Juan Williams on airports" and "I respectfully disagree with your opinions but I still value you as a person" and "My opinions change with new information"
I think that the rally....will_sampleNovember 1 2010, 04:21:19 UTC
...should really be making Democrats cringe.
Think of it this way; the man carrying their message far more effectively than anyone paid to do so, is a professional comedian. One of the five or six key aspects of the last presidential push for the election was to pay the sort of political pilgrimage that used to happen to party machine types, paid to Stewart. I have one good friend who works for the DNC who put his house on the market over a month ago, because he didn't believe he could find a job after November 2nd, and that he'd have to beat the rush to market among his neighbors.
It's going to be a grim Tuesday for a lot of people. I generally prefer understatement on these results, but it has real potential to get much, much uglier.
