The church being as small as it was was mostly empty. Alcuin had seen a clergyman disappear out of the sanctuary and into the back offices at some point.

He smiled a little at Ishiah and said, "I think... that this one used to be the Temple of Elua," he said. Then he nodded to the statue of Jesus at the pulpit. "At least, he looks very familiar. A striking resemblance to his son, at least."
